KULAI, April 9 — The act of uploading and spreading obscene content is an offence under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act. Therefore, Deputy Communications and Digital Minister Teo Nie Ching advised all parties to be more careful when uploading or sharing any content on social media. "If we refer to Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, it is stated that the improper use of network facilities or network services is indeed an offence, for example, obscene, menacing or offensive content and so on.
