Rapid Synergy expects to recognise a gain of RM20.07 million from the disposal of the land measuring 1,338 square metres to Segi Permai Sdn Bhd. (Oct 5): Malaysian bonds beat all their regional peers last quarter, as rising oil prices bolstered the government's coffers. The expected rollback of oil subsidies in next week's budget announcement may provide another updraft. Bonds of the oil-exporting nation returned a relatively small loss of 0.7% in the three months through September, amid a torrid period for global debt markets. TOKYO : Japan issued a tsunami advisory for some coastal regions early Monday (Oct 9) following a series of shallow quakes in the Izu islands in the Pacific Ocean but it was later lifted after no damage was reported from the minor waves generated. SEOUL Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix will be allowed to supply US chip equipment to their China factories indefinitely without separate US approvals, South Korea's presidential office and the companies said on Monday.
