For a while, I've been having issues where randomly, various programs will stop responding, including the Task Manager, and I have to restart my computer to restore their functionality. Other issues that seem to occur at the same time are: -Task Manager is able to close programs, but the program entries are not removed from the Task Manager window -Attempting to close the Task Manager results in a blank white Task Manager window which does not respond -Right-clicking on icons in the Task Bar does not generate a popup menu, or selecting options on the popup menu (such as closing a program) do nothing -Action Center stops opening -Attempting to project my screen to another monitor immediately closes the Action Center without projecting -Steam and Steam Apps are unable to open -Attempting to restart my computer while issues are occurring usually takes many minutes longer than usual, and with the message that programs with no name and only a generic icon are preventing my PC from restarting -Attempting to run Malwarebytes resulted in the program perpetually checking for updates (upon restart, virus scan proceeded at normal) -Attempting to run FRST64 resulted in the program perpetually checking for updates Edited by jionunez, Today, 08:06 PM.
