Almost a year and six months have passed since that night of March 8, 2022, when the monuments on Paseo de Montejo to Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Justo Sierra were painted in the march for International Women's Day. Furthermore, on that occasion the Monumento a la Patria and the Montejo conquistadors, on Paseo de Montejo itself, respectively, were also painted. Although the paintings and graffiti on two monuments on Paseo de Montejo are still evident, the process to remove them is not easy and requires a series of studies and protocols that are already being carried out, explained Anna Goycoolea Artis, director of the INAH Yucatán Center.
