This message was shared with the students, faculty and staff of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa on August 24, 2023. Aloha students, faculty and staff, Our semester began in the immediate aftermath of one of the worst tragedies in Hawaiʻi's history. I wanted to let you know what we are doing now and what we are planning to accomplish in the future to help our students affected by the fires on Maui. For our current students affected by the fires: We are addressing immediate needs and long-term needs in parallel.
