YANGON : Myanmar has decided to extend zero tariffs on battery electric vehicles (BEVs) for one year until March 31, 2024, according to the country's Ministry of Planning and Finance on Tuesday (May 2). The zero-tariff treatment on the BEVs, first imposed in November last year, expired on March 31. The ministry said that it has reduced the tariffs on electric vehicles, related items and spare parts to zero percent with approvals from the government. It aims to encourage EV use in the country and develop the EVs industry and related businesses, it said.
