KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) supported the ministry's call to remove flight travel packages and to refer flight-related issues to the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) instead of the Consumer Claims Tribunal. The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry recently said that flight grievances should be referred to Mavcom because according to Section 99(1)(c) of the Consumer Protection (Amendment) Act 2015 (Act A1498) which was amended with Section 99(1)(ca), any issues related to airline services are not within the tribunal's jurisdiction as of March 1, 2016.
