Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Uzra Zeya will travel to Italy, Vatican City, and Poland September 26-October 2, 2023. During her visit to Italy and Vatican City, she will meet with senior government officials and civil society organizations to deepen coordination on combating human trafficking; promoting safe, orderly, and humane migration management and access to protection; and addressing the global synthetic drug threat. In Rome and Vatican City, the Under Secretary will meet with senior Italian and Vatican officials and civil society on shared efforts to address global human rights challenges.
