UC Davis Medical Center and UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center have earned accreditation once again from the Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons . To achieve renewal of its CoC accreditation, a site visit was conducted to confirm compliance with accreditation standards that evaluate the cancer care services. "What the Commission on Cancer accreditation means is that we have proven the effectiveness of our multidisciplinary approach that treats cancer as a complex group of diseases requiring collaboration among our surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, and other health care professionals caring for cancer patients," cancer center Director Primo "Lucky" Lara Jr .
