According to a letter from LEGABIBO to members dated February 10, 2023 , it stated that Moruti was suspended on February 6, 2023 following the board's decision to do so until further notice. It added that the decision was made in order to institute an independent probe into possible misconduct by Moruti. The letter also stated that it was resolved that he be placed on suspension with full pay, pending the outcome of the investigations. 'The board has since appointed Botshelo Moilwa and Karabo Mahura as Co-CEOs until the investigation process is completed.
