[Image source: TrendForce]The inventory glut in the information technology (IT) sector is showing signs of improvement, starting with displays from April and moving on to smartphones and semiconductors.According to Taiwanese market researcher TrendForce on Tuesday, global shipments of display panels used in notebook computers will total 38.7 million pieces in the first quarter, down 10.4 percent from the previous quarter. Shipments, however, will improve in the second quarter, to end five straight quarters of decline.
