-- Photograph for illustrative purposes SINGAPORE, Sept. 29 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- People aged 65 and above accounted for 19.1 per cent of the total citizens in Singapore by June, compared to 11.7 per cent in 2013, according to the Population in Brief released by the National Population and Talent Division Friday, reported Xinhua. The proportion of citizens aged 65 and above is rising at a faster pace compared to the last decade because "baby boomers" born from 1946 to 1964 are entering the post-65 age range, said the report, adding that around 1 in 4 citizens will be aged 65 and above by 2030.
