MANILA, Philippines — The country's COVID-19 positivity rate remained at 6.4 percent from July 5 to 8, according to Octa Research fellow Guido David. In a series of Twitter posts, David's updates revealed that the rate stayed the same for four consecutive days, with new cases ranging from 300 to 400 nationwide. Based on the Department of Health's (DOH) recent data, David reported 347 new coronavirus infections nationwide as of July 8, with 75 cases from the National Capital Region. July 8 2023 DOH reported 347 new cases, 0 deaths, 431 recoveries 6553 active cases.
