A former UAAP player was appointed by Converge to replace former PBA commissioner Chito Salud as alternate governor. Archen Cayabyab, who helped National University reach its first-ever UAAP Final Four in 2001, received the nod of the PBA Board of Governors, which a few weeks ago thumbed down Converge's appointment of Dennis Pineda as team governor. 'It's good to be back on the basketball scene again,' Cayabyab said after his appointment was announced on Thursday. Cayabyab has close ties with Converge coach Aldin Ayo and assistant Danny Ildefonso, a fellow NU alumnus.
