Criminal Groups Squad detectives have taken carriage of an investigation into a public place shooting where two men were injured in Sydney's Inner West last week under Strike Force Orsino. About 1.50pm on Friday 7 July 2023, emergency services were called to a business on Marrickville Road in Marrickville, after reports two men – aged 20 and 33 – had been shot. Both men were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital; with one man suffering serious injuries. A short time later, emergency services responded to two burnt-out vehicles located in Marrickville and Dulwich Hill, which are currently being treated as linked.
