Reintroducing the Social Housing Future Fund bill is about getting more housing and not about elections, says Defence Minister Richard Marles. 'We have a policy which would make a difference – we were elected with a mandate and we're going to put these policies before the parliament,' he told Sky News Australia. 'This isn't about going to an election, this is about getting more houses into the housing market and it's about making a difference to people's cost of living. 'That's why we want to do everything that we possibly can to try and get this bill through.
