Fifty new Queenslanders have been welcomed to the world in one of the busiest-ever 24 hours at Mater Mothers' hospitals . These five tiny newborns were among the 44 bubs who were born at Mater Mothers' Private Brisbane and Mater Mothers' Hospital on 30 August, with another six babies arriving at other Mater Mothers' hospitals across regional Queensland. The record number of Mater babies born across the state was 52, on 18 October last year. Some parents have attributed a rare astronomical event – a super blue moon – as the reason for their baby's arrival and the bumper day of births.
