MANILA, Philippines–Manila Water records a significant surge in new water connections amid the pandemic, expanding its total water service connections to 1,150,297 from August 1997 to December 2022. The East Zone concessionaire said the new water services have resulted in a surge of Manila Water's customer base to 7,460,705 customers by the end of 2022. The company saw a boost in new connections in 2022, with 33,909 new water service connections installed, marking a 56% increase from the 21,680 new connections in 2021.
