I am a subscriber of the Inquirer and never miss reading the Opinion section. The editorial 'Good news, bad news on cancer' (3/18/23) caught my eye since two of my family members were just recently diagnosed with cancer. One with cancer of the rectum and the other with cancer of the thyroid glands. Your information regarding the shortage of oncologists, and lack of trained pathologists, technologists, and surgeons are certainly facts. Indeed, what is the use of state-of-the-art facilities without the experts and knowledgeable medical personnel to make use of it? I am just a lowly citizen who has been observing perhaps what in our society has been causing these diseases.
