MANILA, Philippines -D&L Industries Inc., the Lao family's food ingredients and plastics manufacturing giant, saw a banner year in 2022 after profits soared to a historic high of P3.3 billion. The figure eclipsed the previous record of P3.2 billion in 2018 and was higher by 26 percent from 2021 as the company rode the economy's recovery from the pandemic slump, D&L, which makes ingredients and other specialized products used by the country's biggest restaurant chains and consumer companies, said earnings were further bolstered by fast-growing exports.
