The app was also down for hours, preventing users from checking their accounts. 'We extended our scheduled maintenance to investigate and determined that no hacking occurred,' it said, adding that any deduction will be adjusted before 3 pm today. In March, GCash introduced 'DoubleSafe' security feature to prevent account takeovers, which allow hackers to drain a user's e-wallet account.
