Wurstfest is celebrating its 60th year. But this time the celebration of sausage is looking a little different.The 10-day annual festival — taking place this year from Nov. 5 to 14 — is a New Braunfels tradition that started in 1961.Wurstfest celebrates the city's German heritage. It's one of the Hill Country town's biggest events that attracts thousands of visitors from across the state and beyond every year.But in 2019, just days after the 59th festival ended, a devastating fire destroyed the iconic Marktplatz building.
