(Satellite image from Pagasa) MANILA, Philippines — Many parts of the country will experience heavy rains due to the trough of the low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and the southwest monsoon, the weather bureau said on Friday. 'Yung pong extension area ng low pressure area o yung tinatawag po naming ‘trough' ay umaabot po sa may silangang bahagi ng Visayas, at ganoon din po sa Mindanao,' weather specialist of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Aldczar Aurelio reported.
