The training suction dredge Albatros has started a 12-day campaign clearing naturally accumulating sediments along the Eastland Port shipping channel, turning basin, Wharf 7 and Wharf 8. 'So far the Albatros crew have worked in the Wharf 7 berth pocket to remove the infill from the last 18 months while the wharf has been under construction,' a Port spokesperson said. 'They have also completed a small amount of work in the shipping channel, and progress is going well considering the first few days there was some swell,' she said.
