MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday said it recorded a total of 1,944 COVID-19 cases during the observance of Holy Week or from April 3 to 9, which is slightly higher than the 1,721 infections registered the previous week. This total, based on the DOH's latest weekly data, translated to a daily average of 278, which the department noted is 13 percent higher than the 246 daily average recorded from March 27 to April 2. Meanwhile, 17 or 0.94 percent of the total recorded infections were tagged as critical or severe, bringing active critical or severe COVID-19 admissions to 378.
