‘Dangerous' 46°C heat index alert: PH to brace for scorching Wednesday weather
MANILA, Philippines — Falling under the 'danger' category, sweltering heat indices of 42-46°C are expected to hit parts of the country on Wednesday, according to a 1-day forecast by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). The highest heat index of the day will be in: – Masbate City's at 46°C – Roxas City, Catarman in Northern Samar, and Maasin in Southern Leyte at 45°C – Pili in Camarines Sur, Juban in Sorsogon, Iloilo City, Catbalogan in Western Samar, Dipolog in Zamboanga del Norte, and Laguindingan in Misamis Oriental at 44°C – Tacloban City, Zamboanga City, and Surigao City at 43°C As many as 12 stations across the country forecast an index of 42°C, as listed below.
