MANILA, Philippines— The Philippines' COVID-19 positivity rate has risen to 14.3% as of Friday, according to OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David. A total of 858 new cases were recorded on Friday, driving the number of active COVID-19 cases up to 5,293 nationwide. Over half of all active cases are in Luzon. '[There is a] 14.3% nationwide positivity rate. [There are] 331 cases in NCR, 55 in Laguna, 49 in Cavite. [We project] 1000-1200 new cases on April 29,' David said in a social media post.
