The 5-Star Chefs for Charity event has been postponed until 3 November. The event, which raises funds for the Mayor's Annual Christmas Cheer Appeal, was set to be held at the Pullman Cairns International Hotel this Saturday (12 August). Cairns Mayor Bob Manning said the decision to postpone was a difficult one, but necessary to ensure the event was a success. "This is an important event that plays a vital role in raising funds so we can provide food hampers to those in need during the Christmas period," Cr Manning said.
