Carol L. Newman, 71, of Milano died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, in Bryan. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with a gathering following the service at Milano Civic Center. Mrs. Newman was born Oct. 10, 1951, to Robert B. and Linda Lee (Vaughn) Holt in San Antonio. On Sept. 5, 1970, she married Mark Newman in San Antonio. She began her career with the U.S. Civil Service at Kelly Field in the early 80s. She transferred to Fort Hood in 1999 and was there until she retired in 2013 with 30 years of civil service.
