MANILA, Philippines–In a bid to protect the public from sexual abuse, violence, and exploitation, Caloocan City has launched its Anti-Sexual Harassment (ASH) desk and hotline. The initiative was set in motion to coincide with the end of Women's Month and the beginning of the Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April. Mayor Dale Gonzalo 'Along' Malapitan said that any form of sexual harassment or abuse is punishable by law, and the opening of the ASH desk and hotline is a significant step towards protecting the public.
