Electricity Networks Commissioner?s report into new pylonsAn electricity pylon in London, Britain, 04 August 2023. A government-commissioned report by the Electricity Networks Commissioner has said households should be given cash if they live in the path of new large electricity pylons. The recommendation is among several to speed up the building of new infrastructure to better connect with new renewable energy. According to the report the UK risks leaving wind turbines and solar farms standing idle or unbuilt and higher bills for customers if they cannot be connected to the national grid.
