WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden turned to his old boss, former President Barack Obama, on Saturday to help him encourage Americans to sign up for 'Obamacare' health care coverage during an expanded special enrollment period in the pandemic. Biden used his weekly address for a brief Zoom chat with Obama to draw attention to the six-month expanded enrollment period that closes Aug. 15. Meanwhile the government released a report that claims that nearly 31 million Americans — a record — now have health coverage through Obamacare, formally known as the Affordable Care Act.

AUCKLAND, New Zealand (AP) — Singer Matiu Walters grinned as he gazed out over 50,000 damp but delirious fans and said those magic words: 'So, what's up Eden Park?' While much of the world remains hunkered down, the band Six60 has been playing to huge crowds in New Zealand, where social distancing isn't required after the nation stamped out the coronavirus. The band's tour finale on Saturday night was billed as the largest concert in the world since the pandemic began. Equally momentous for a band which met while playing rugby at university was getting to play the first concert ever held at the storied Eden Park rugby stadium.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Historyland Highway and Conley Pond Road. A Subaru traveling east on Historyland Highway crossed the centerline and into oncoming traffic, striking a GMC pickup truck. The occupants of the truck, a 58-year-old male of Farnham, Va.

Just after 11 p.m., authorities received calls about a man shot in the 4400 block of Chickahominy Ave. When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for critical injuries. Henrico Police is on scene of a confirmed shooting incident. An adult male has been transported to an area hospital for critical injuries he sustained.
