Geraldine Ridge Bagwell, age 80, peacefully passed away on November 4, 2022, in Shreveport, following a brief illness. A private ceremony will be held to spread Gerry's ashes in her beloved hometown of Hickory Tavern, South Carolina. Gerry and her family moved from Laurens, South Carolina, to Ruston, in 1968. Gerry loved the outdoors and spending time working in her yard on Lake Claiborne. She enjoyed living a simple life at home playing her piano. Gerry loved reminiscing about her childhood, her heritage and visiting with her family.

Johnathan Wayne Nolan was born August 21, 1993, and passed away on January 4, 2023, after an accident at home. He was 29 years old. Johnathan was born in Greenville, Mississippi, but grew up in the Oak Grove-Rayville area. He is survived by his wife Kaitlin Neview Nolan; his daughter, Natalie Renee Nolan; along with his parents, Timothy Ray Nolan and Tania Ann Shaw; and his brothers, Mathew Nolan and Timothy Junior Nolan. Kaitlin Neview and Johnathan were married June 28, 2014, and have one daughter, Natalie Renee Nolan, who is 9 years old.

Timothy Dean Gaston, 59, passed away at home surrounded by friends and family on August 2, 2023. William (Bill) Warren Hudnall, 63, of Denham Springs, died peacefully October 11, 2022, following a long battle with cancer. Born to Dr. Jarrett and Sarah W. Hudnall, Bill grew up in Ruston, where he attended St. Thomas Aquinas School and graduated from Ruston High School. As a boy, he and his family spent many summers in Centreville, Mississippi, at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Carrie Lee Warren. He studied at Louisiana Tech and Middle Tennessee State University with a focus on Computer Science/ Information Systems.

Kimberly Crank Love passed away peacefully in Austin, Texas, surrounded by family on January 31, 2023. She is survived by her husband Dicky Love, her two daughters Carrie and Abby, and their families. Kim was born in Atlanta and raised first in Birmingham, Alabama, then Little Rock, Arkansas. She attended the University of Arkansas where she met her husband of 47 years. Together they eventually settled in Ruston, where they led a church and raised their daughters. Many of you probably saw her on the side of the road or in your backyards clipping flowers and greenery to decorate the church's sanctuary.

George Kenneth Parkman was born in Russell County, Alabama, on June 9, 1935, to Hilda Maggie Bryant and Leslie Huell Parkman. In 1946 the family moved to Salem, Alabama, where they ran a general merchandise grocery store for twenty years. A 1953 graduate of Opelika High School, George earned a degree in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University in 1957. A member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and the Army ROTC, he was commissioned as Second Lieutenant upon graduation. After working as an industrial engineer for Southern Bell Telephone Company, George was assigned to the Army Corps of Engineers in Germany from 1958 to 1960 where he attained the rank of Captain.

Anne Goyne Mitchell Calhoun, 98, died peacefully at home on November 13, 2022, surrounded by her family and loving caregivers. Known as 'Mima,' to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Anne was born on February 4, 1924, in Ruston, to Charles Covington Goyne and Anniebel Taylor Goyne. She grew up there with her parents and older sister, Jane. Her father was Mayor of Ruston from 1927-1941 until his death, when Anne was just 17. College years were a source of great joy for Anne.

She was married to the love of her life, Cecil Hood, of Corinth, for 58 years until his passing in 2011.

The Ruston volleyball team is on fire. There's no other way to say it. Five straight wins. Fifteen straight sets won. Winners of 18 of their last 20 sets. With three weeks left in the regular season, the Bearcats improved to 19-6 overall and 3-0 in district after rattling off three more victories in sweeps over Haughton (25-19, 25-20, 25-10), Pineville ( 25- 2, 25- 13, 25-8), and Ouachita (259, 25-14, 25-14). The Bearcats have not dropped a set since Sept. 23 and return Tuesday to the Ruston Sports Complex with an opportunity to win the District 2-1 title.

Richard Eloy Williams departed on his last ride December 21, 2022. Richard was born in Amarillo, Texas, March 28, 1950. Richard had a larger than life spirit with a passion for karaoke with a stage presence second to none. He will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by father, Billy B Edwards; mother, Joyce Coleman Edwards; and sisters, Cheryl Edwards and Ladonna Williams. He was born December 06, 1975, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Ronald ( Mac) and Deborah McCarthy. He attended Long Beach High School, in Long Beach, Mississippi. He was a skilled carpenter and mechanic having worked in a cabinet shop and as a natural gas compressor mechanic. Most recently he enjoyed doing small jobs around the house with his family.
