Parallelogram flaps functionally better than homodigital island flaps for fingertip reconstruction
A modified local transposition flap ("parallelogram flap") surgery was performed for fingertip injuries by Zhang et al. The authors compared the clinical effects of parallelogram flap and homodigital island flaps in fingertip reconstruction. The study was conducted at Jinshan Hospital of Fudan University, Shanghai, People's Republic of China. The study collected patients who underwent parallelogram transposition flaps and homodigital island flaps to repair fingertip defects. 150 cases (150 fingers) were included in the study.

Food Addiction linked to Type 2 Diabetes among normal individuals and ones with mental disorders
Denmark: A new study published in Clinical Nutrition Journal has found that there is a positive association between food addiction and type 2 diabetes (T2D) in both the general population and among individuals with mental disorders. This research sheds light on the addictive nature of highly processed foods and suggests that food addiction may be a promising target for preventing T2D. The study, which was conducted by researchers in Denmark, surveyed 1,699 adults from the general population and 1,394 adults with clinically verified mental disorders.

Early Intervention for physical comorbidity in patients with mental illness reduces premature mortality
Early intervention on various physical health parameters is important to lessen morbidity and premature mortality in severe mental illness patients as per a study published in the journal "The Lancet Psychiatry, 2022." Past Literature shows that individuals with severe mental illness, have an increased prevalence of chronic physical health problems. The temporal relationship between physical disease acquisition and diagnosis of a severe mental illness is not clear despite the increased rates of physical health problems in people with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other psychotic illnesses.

Oral cyclosporine effective drug in decreasing episodes and intensity of cholinergic itch
Cyclosporine effective in cholinergic itch- IDOJ Cholinergic itch is a part of the symptom complex which includes cholinergic erythema and cholinergic urticaria. It is characterized by sudden onset of severe itching, burning, or pricking sensations without any visible cutaneous changes. It primarily affects whole body in response to increased core body temperature, sunlight exposure, exercise/physical activities, warm atmosphere/clothing, emotional stress, and hot and spicy food intake. There is a paucity of data on management of cholinergic itch even though it can severely compromise the quality of life.

Low and high hemoglobin levels closely associated with cognitive decline in elderly
China: A new study published in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry showed that an inverted U-shaped curve relationship between hemoglobin (HGB) level and overall cognitive profile may exist since both low and high HGB levels might cause cognitive decline in dementia incidence.Globally, there are around 50 million dementia sufferers, and by 2050, that figure is predicted to quadruple. Anemia has been shown to be a risk factor in relation to hypoxic and oxidative stress, in addition to the well-known risk factors for cognitive decline and dementia (diabetes, dyslipidemia, stroke, smoking, sleep disturbances, alcohol consumption, and decreased cognitive activities).
