The incident took place in Hartford County in Manchester on Wednesday, Oct. 4 on the hiking trail near Charter Oak Park. According to Lt. Ryan Shea of the Manchester Police, the woman was walking on the trail when the man, identified as Daquan Clark-Blue, age 30, of Manchester, came up behind her and threw her to the ground. "The suspect groped the victim, physically assaulted her, and briefly took her purse and cell phone before the victim fought him off," Shea said. The victim was able to take a photograph of Clark-Blue before he fled, and officers immediately set a perimeter in the Charter Oak Park / Sycamore Lane area to begin a search.

On Wednesday, Sept. 20, 37-year-old New London County resident Gabrielle Delvalle-Colon, of the town of Sprague, was arrested for her alleged actions for a crash that happened seven months prior. Three men were wounded in separate shootings in Paterson less than 18 hours apart, authorities confirmed.A 27-year-old city man was shot in the leg near the corner of Carroll and Fulton streets shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. A man has been sentenced for stabbing his wife to death during a dispute at her Westchester home.Kirk Fisher, age 60, of the Bronx, was sentenced on Thursday, Sept. 29, to 20 years in state prison for killing his wife Kaya Green, at her Mount Vernon home, said Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah.'This is a devastating case of domestic violence and we hope the family of Kaya Green has some sense of closure,' Rocah said. On the night of Thursday, April 8, 2021, Fisher repeatedly stabbed the 47-year-old victim, who suffered numerous stab wounds to various parts of her body and blunt force trauma to her head, which caused her death, Roach said.

Police said a 38-year-old Somerville man thought he had an easy score Thursday, Aug. 16, when he saw a scooter latched to a bike rack at the MBTA Davis Square station, but his eyes were bigger than his brain on this caper. Derek Roy was caught around 4 p.m. trying to cut the cable that secured the GTX Scooter to the bike rack by an officer who happened to be nearby, Transit Police said. Roy told the officer the pricey scooter belonged to a friend.  Unfortunately for Roy, the owner of the scooter walked up at that time, and he explained he'd never met him before.

Three men and two juveniles were arrested for allegedly having two guns after being stopped for following each other at a high rate of speed in Fairfield County.The incident took place in New Cannan around 3:10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 17 northbound on New Norwalk Road. Three people were saved after their boat capsized in a Hudson Valley reservoir.On Wednesday, Nov. 2 around 12 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the Croton Falls Reservoir in Carmel in the area of Hemlock Dam Road after a boat containing three people capsized, according to Mahopac fire officials. With the help of a team of Mahopac fire officials, Carmel Police, and the Putnam County Sheriff, the three people were taken back to shore and transported to Danbury Hospital, officials said.  "Truly amazing people doing their jobs to save lives," Mahopac Fire Public Information Officer Jack Casey said.

A New York woman is facing charges after allegedly distributing phony COVID-19 vaccine cards on social media, authorities said.Albany County resident Krystal Barton, age 36, of Cohoes, was arrested following an investigation by New York State Police. A belligerent hospital patient was arrested after assaulting a nurse and security guard in Berks County, authorities said.Todd Bennett, 37, was being treated at the Penn State Health St. Joseph Hospital when he became hostile and bit a registered nurse on her arm and spit in a security guard's face on July 31, Bern Township police said in a Sept. 12 news release. The Reading man was eventually restrained by staff and arrested on aggravated assault charges, police said. On Sept. 6, a magisterial district judge found probable cause to forward the case to the Court of Common Pleas.

A man who grew up in Westchester County and spent more than 50 years working at an insurance company in Connecticut has died at the age of 91.Fairfield County resident Anthony 'Tony' Ragusa, of Wilton, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 4, following a brief illness, according to his obituary. He was born in Port Chester and graduated from Port Chester High School.Ragusa went on to study at Mercy College and serve in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956 when he was honorably discharged, his obituary said.

A man with a history of smashing his way into Hudson Valley businesses is once again behind bars for allegedly breaking into a smoke shop.In Ulster County, police in Saugerties were called at around 7:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, with reports of a commercial burglar alarm at the Smokers Choice store, located on Ulster Avenue. A New York man pleaded guilty to pulling open a door to the US Capitol Building to let rioters inside during the attack on the building on Jan. 6, 2021.Long Island resident Eric Gerwatowski, age 32, of New Hyde Park in Nassau County, admitted to opening the door after US Capitol Police had closed it to prevent more rioters from entering the building, according to an announcement by US Attorney Matthew M. A filmmaker from Marlborough will be part of the first-ever civilian mission to orbit the moon. Brendan Hall, a documentary filmmaker, was selected out of over one million artists and creatives to be a crew member of the "dearMoon" mission, which will make a month-long journey to the moon and back using a SpaceX rocket later in 2023.The idea for the project came from Japanese entrepreneur Yusaku Maezawa, who purchased the seats aboard the rocket for eight other crew members.  Hall's films have focused on telling stories in remote parts of the world such as Siberia and the Amazon rainforest, making a trip to the moon a natural next step for him.
