The Rockliff Liberal Government thanks foster and kinship carers during Foster Care Week for the the safe, nurturing environment they provide for children and young people in need. Minister for Education, Children and Youth, Roger Jaensch, said there are approximately 850 households providing foster and kinship care to nearly 1000 children and young people across Tasmania. "There can be no greater investment in our future than to give a child a loving place to call home," Minister Jaensch said. "Without the commitment and generosity of Tasmania's foster and kinship carers the needs of some children and young people in care would not be met.
