SINGAPORE : A Bill that empowers the Government to remove criminal online content was passed in Parliament on Wednesday (July 5). The Online Criminal Harms Act will allow the Government to tell individuals, entities, online and Internet service providers, and app stores to remove or block access to content it suspects is being used to commit crimes. Minister for Communications and Information Josephine Teo said during the second reading of the Bill that there is growing international consensus that new rules are needed to combat criminal harms online.
