The icebreaker was delivered to FSUE Atomflot in November 2022 Nuclear-powered icebreaker Ural of Project 22220 will undergo scheduled dock repair at Kronshtadt Shipyard, an asset of United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC). On 1 August 2023, the icebreaker moored at the outfitting embankment of USC's Baltiysky Zavod shipyard. It will take  several weeks to prepare the icebreaker for further towing of the ship to the water area of Kronshtadt shipyard, according to the Telegram of Baltiysky Zavod. The Ural is the third ship of Project 22220 built by Baltiysky Zavod shipyard.
