The Andrews Labor Government has removed its 71 st and 72 nd dangerous and congested level crossings at Neerim Road and Glen Huntly Road, two years ahead of schedule, with Frankston Line trains now running through a new rail trench and stopping at the new Glen Huntly Station. Passengers will be able to catch the train from the new Glen Huntly Station from Monday 31 July after a 58-day construction blitz, which saw more than 64 Olympic swimming pools worth of soil excavated from the 1.2-kilometre rail trench, following works to remove the level crossings.
