Police have charged a man with assault, theft and pursuit offences in Tamworth yesterday. On Thursday 10 August 2023, Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended a business on Cook Street, Tamworth, to arrest a 33-year-old following reports of an alleged assaulted of a 24-year-old woman. When police arrived the man allegedly fled the scene. Following inquires police located the man travelling in a Mitsubishi sedan in West Tamworth, about 10am Friday (25 August 2023). Police attempted to stop the vehicle however the driver allegedly failed to do so.
