The rail industry is asking school leavers to consider one of the thousands of well-paid apprenticeships on offer in rail in an effort to boost its younger workforce. Australasian Railway Association (ARA) CEO Caroline Wilkie said National Skills Week was the perfect time for young people leaving school this year to look at the many different types of entry-level jobs available in rail. "ARA research shows that people under 25 represent just four per cent of the rail industry's employees," Ms Wilkie said.
