Hello hope everyone is doing fine, I wanted to as for a small problem that I have in my PC, I normally run AVAST as my antivirus and use AdwCleaner just to check if google is clean, I recently decided to get a new PC and want to give this one to one of my siblings to use so I decided to check a bit deeper with some extra antivirus/second opinion scanners like HitmanPro and rkill, HitmanPro said everything was fine some some stuff was marked as UniDeal (not sure what that means) but rkill find a window service named NDISRD [PUP/GEN] and killed and by doing so it killed my internet too.

Posted Today, 03:57 PM I have a Macrium Reflect task to backup certain files/folders everyday. It backs up to a separate local physical disk location (lets call it drive F). It is possible to create another task once a month to backup that entire location to another separate NAS drive? When I tried to create a new backup target location and point it to the NAS device, it seems Macrium only selects one target location, which ever is first on the list and if that doesn't work, then it seeks the next location.

I have been dealing with being hacked/has to be some persistent form of malware for over a year now. I have ran multiple scans and reset/replaced hard drives/ replaced computers/ cell phones etc. People seem to not believe me when I say Im being targeted. But that is an INSANE amount of different connection flows to my computer. They are all outbound, I wont go into the whole situation due to the fact that it has been SO long that im sure things have changed over that period of time. However the crazy insane amount of network connections is in the past 24 hours.

Posted Yesterday, 09:13 PM I have Windows 7 installed on a standalone machine for an audio application that uses some aging hardware and needs a 32-bit installation - so just saying in advance I'm not looking for audio solutioning or queries about why I'd not use another product that could run 64-bit. Everything works fine except I can't run Task Scheduler, which I need to do to control a service related to the processing I'm using. When I try to start it, I get "MMC has detected an error in a snap-in and will unload it.

Posted Today, 02:30 PM System Dell Optiplex 9020 MT (Refurbished) Windows 8.1 32 GB Ram Since a Windows Repair on 3/16/23 any time I log into my computer, the screen begins refreshing rapidly. I narrowed it down to a function in the "Thumbnail Handler Extraction Host" in the task manager. I've researched and found plenty of instances of others going through this year's ago, but their fixes didn't work for me usually it was because of Norton, which I never had. I have noticed on my MX-linux 21-3 running KDE plasma that if I try to remove VLC packges such as phonon4qt5-backend-vlc, vlc-data vlc-plugin-base it will remove several applications including  Dolphin a file manager, the network icon removed Kcal a simple calculator, sweeper a MX file clean up app. I understand that packages have depenpencies but this does not make sense specifically since removing one item like phonon4qt5-backend-vlc has a description of capturing, playing and displaying video.

Posted Today, 02:14 PM I currently have the hp pavillion 15- ec0xxx. It has the AMD Ryzen 5 3550 H processor, 8 GB ram, 1 TB HDD and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card. As of late the laptop has been underperforming and giving me trouble. I was thinking of upgrading RAM and SSD as the laptop has been slow. I was wondering if it was better to upgrade the laptop or to just a buy new one?

Posted Yesterday, 08:27 PM I was trying to set up a new hard drive on my pc. I had a USB device that connects to drives externally so I could copy the data from the drive I was replacing. I was able to get the drive initialized and working in Windows Explorer, so I started the copy. About 30 seconds later I get a notification that the drive has stopped functioning. Next, my keyboard and mouse stop responding and are indicating they're no longer connected. The video I had playing in the background is still playing just fine.

Is there any way of simply porting the operating system and program installations from my old machine to the new one? I once did this by doing a bare metal restore from a Shadow Protect backup, but that was many years ago and I'm not sure that would still work.

Hi Folks, Once more I have exceeded my capabilities! Sat here with a 64GB USB Stick in my Win 10 PC trying to install this little piece of magic so that I can build a library of ISO's to play with! I have downloaded and unpacked the software and followed the instruction to install first "Ventoy2Disk.exe". That done, I'm presented with an empty folder labelled "Ventoy (E:)". Now, I am lost! Here is a couple of screenshots of the instructions and the Unpacked download. Can anyone advise me just what I need to do as my understanding of the instructions seems to require me to just paste the first folder in the list from the package into the open folder "Ventoy (E:)".

Hi - not sure if mine is a windows or driver or hardware issue, not been able to isolate the problem area. Have an acer aspire laptop running windows 7 (yes I know its old but up to now it has been more reliable than my other laptops running Windows 10).  Anyhow have recently had startup problems.  Probably 70% of the time the laptop starts but no display just a black screen - hard drive operating and laptop makes a single beep as if  a device is disconnected .  If i then power down and restart it always starts as normal including display.

hp desktop, ssd, 500gb, 750-055 when I type a comment on a website, all the words run together even when putting spaces...why? if I space a couple times, it puts the typed words back together or if I type .....it does the same...so far only does on one website comment section, and I've already notified them about it.  also changed my batteries for my wireless keyboard and mouse..... any ideas? thanks

Now I cannot log in because I had not set up 2FA. I have tried to set it up - using Microsoft Authenticator - but can't "connect" authenticator to facebook because I cannot log in.   Facebook help is useless. I have searched the net for someone with this problem, and finally actually found it listed on your site, but the problem was never resolved as far as I can tell.

A few months back I moved all my "data" folders from their default location to a newly installed second HDD.  After a bit of fumbling that seemed to have worked.  The original Documents folder (for example) still seemed to exist as C:\users\[username]\documents\, and to contain all the original subfolders (there were many), but all those subfolders were "empty" if you went to look at them.  The data were now physically located at D:\Documents\ and appeared in the same arrangement as originally, i.

I highlighted the whole signature, right click, selected single space, and checked the don't add space between paragraphs. It returned to single space. However, after selecting okay it reverted to double space. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Posted Today, 03:37 PM So I have been fighting with this 'problem' for a few months now, I first posted about the logon sessions and now it seems things are getting out of control. I have done a fresh install several times now and finding suspicious things in my registry as well my windows security icon looking strange and the UI of the windows security program seeming out of sorts. I have found alternate data streams while investigating, ODBC is being used?, maybe my digital certificates?, Windows NT folder is there basically every time i reinstall( I don't remember that ever being there)  Can someone please tell me where to start with diagnosing with what is going on, I'll reply as quickly as possible.

Hi there everybody. Hoping to get some help here. I used to be incredibly computer savvy, but that has been well surpassed by technology at this point - SO - I apologize ahead of time. I had to mess with my firewall settings yesterday in order to download software to open some .MBOX files for email evidence against a former employer and it very well could be paranoia, but my laptop has been been increasingly slow which prompted me to start poking around. Noticed some suspect files/folders, etc along with being prompted to access things as "admin", which I can't remember ever having to do on my own computer.

The reason why I'm looking for a motherboard that's at least a year old is because I'm going to be running Linux on it more specifically Kubuntu 22.04. And I know about a year is enough time for most Linux distros to work best with hardware that's at least a year old.

Hello everyone,So 2 days ago i tried to update my GPU's drivers (RX 560 2gb) everything went well, until i had to restart the PC to complete the update.When it rebooted the screen was black, No HDMI Signal was written on the monitor.I've tried to Change the input of the monitor, Hdmi 1/2 etc.I've reset the monitor, cleaned the cables, tried a different one and nothing worked.And I've removed all the RAM, cleaned the slots and placed them again.So i removed the GPU and connected the HDMI Cable to the motherboard, and surprisingly it worked(The screen opened and everything works fine).

When I turn my computer on, my motherboard shows a red light for 1 second then disappears and then an orange light shows up for a long 7 seconds before disappearing. No other lights show up. Back when it used to boot up it would show the red light, yellow, then follow with a white and green and then it would boot up.
