(Lugano, Monday, 9 October 2023) A major pan-European study has revealed that almost all patients affected by skin diseases face embarrassment, with the psychological burden compounding the physical impact of living with the disease. 1,2 The Burden of Skin Disease in Europe, published today in the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (JEADV), analysed 19,015 individuals with a range of skin diseases and revealed the huge psychological toll of living with a disease. The diseases examined included, amongst others, fungal skin infections, acne, atopic dermatitis (eczema), alopecia, psoriasis and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Council's 2023/24 road reseal program is underway, with road maintenance and renewal works in progress across the Tweed Shire. Manager Roads and Stormwater Danny Rose said the program, which will continue through to February 2024, underscores Council's commitment to maintaining a safe and connected road network for the Tweed community. A man will appear in court today charged after a toilet was allegedly set alight in Albury on the weekend. About 12pm Saturday (9 October 2023), emergency services were called to a shopping centre on Griffith Road, Lavington, following reports a disabled toilet was on fire. Officers attached to Murray River Police District arrived to find the toilet well alight. The centre was evacuated, and the blaze was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW. No injuries were reported. A crime scene was established and investigation into the cause of the fire was commenced.

Somewhere in the dense coastal forests surrounding Txaa K'alii Aksim Lisims (the Nass River) in what would become north-western British Columbia, Canada, master carver Oye'a' of the Indigenous Nisg̱a'a people picked out a towering red cedar tree. It's been a heartbreaking year for the S Club 7 family following the  death of Paul Cattermole , and now his bandmate, Hannah Spearritt, has revealed she blamed herself for his death.   The 42-year-old singer was shocked when her S Club 7 bandmate and former boyfriend Cattermole, 46, died suddenly in April, and revealed she initially feared he had taken his own life and thought it was her fault.   Speaking to The Sun on Sunday newspaper, Spearritt admitted her fears came from a 'deeply disturbing' email she received from Cattermole in 2021.

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert joked Sunday she'll have to get new shoes now that the league has added one expansion team, with another most likely on the way soon.
