The approach of typhoon Khanun is putting a premature end to the World Scout Jamboree on the reclaimed Saemangeum tidal flats in North Jeolla Province that has proved a resounding debacle for Korea.  The World Organization of the Scout Movement on Monday decided to evacuate the remaining participants as Khanun approaches the Korean Peninsula. Already plagued by hundreds falling ill in the heat wave, filthy sanitation, swarms of mosquitoes and a general lack of preparation, all participants will now vacate the campsite just six days after the Jamboree started and spend the rest of their time here in dormitories.
