In the aftermath of the seemingly uncontroversial outcome of the May 2022 elections, elective government officials are being assassinated with lawless contempt across the nation. In Luzon, Aparri, Cagayan Vice Mayor Rommel Alameda was ambushed. In the Visayas, Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo was killed in his own home. In Mindanao, Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong Jr. was ambushed but survived. Altogether, 15 died. These political assassinations seem to be reversing the May 2022 election results by 'other means.
