TAGBILARAN CITY — A suspected New People's Army (NPA) rebel was killed in an encounter Friday, May 12, with government troops in Antequera town, Bohol. The firefight at 6:10 a.m. in the boundaries of Barangays Tabuan in Antequera town and Abehilan in San Isidro resulted in the death of a rebel and the recovery of a .45 pistol with magazine and several live ammunition, according to the Bohol police. The Bohol Police Provincial Office reported that NPA surrenderers knew the fatality only as 'Jasper.
