Middle-aged Koreans have been swept up in a worldwide craze for self-help books while investment primers have lost steam as inflation and a stalled economy turn people's gaze inward. Online book store Yes24 said sales of self-help books surged 33 percent on-year in the first half of this year, while sales of investment guidebooks, novels, poetry and other literary genres fell around 14 percent. The trend is reflected on the bestseller lists. Three of the top five bestsellers on Yes 24 are self-help books, whereas only five years ago there was not a single one.
