Mr. Scruggs Rogers F (Sonny) Scruggs of Thrall went to be with the Lord on Nov. 17, 2022. He p as sed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Bastrop County on Feb. 6, 1935, to Horace and Lois (Cole) Scruggs. Mr. Scruggs graduated from Thrall High School. He married his wife, Betty Eschberger, on Jan. 5, 1959, and they were blessed with four children Wynn, Stewart, Patty and Jackie. Mr. Scruggs served in the U.S. Army as a bridge welder and he was a farmer—well known for raising watermelons.
