The Joseon Tongsinsa ship departs for Japan from a port in Busan on Tuesday. This is the first time in 212 years for the ship, which was reconstructed by the National Research Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage, to travel to Japan. The vessel docked at the Hitakatsu port in Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture, later Tuesday as it made its way to arrive at nearby Izuhara port on Wednesday. The Joseon Tongsinsa is a diplomatic delegation that was sent to Japan 12 times between 1607 and 1811. The Korean delegation shared Korean medicine, Confucianism and music and arts.
