Mount Bulusan in Sorsogon (INQUIRER SOUTHERN LUZON FILE PHOTO) LEGAZPI CITY — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded eight volcano-tectonic earthquakes in Mount Bulusan in Sorsogon on Tuesday morning, which may result in steam-driven or phreatic eruptions. In an advisory, Phivolcs said the earthquakes were detected from 9:08 a.m. to 10:46 a.m., and occurred between 4 to 7 kilometers beneath the southern sector of the volcano. 'These changes in the condition of the volcano may progress into further unrest and potentially trigger steam-driven or phreatic eruptions from any of its active vents,' Phivolcs said in the advisory.
